My first art teacher was Mark Kistler from the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) show "Imagination Station."  We only had 5 channels growing up, and PBS was the only one that showed kids shows in the afternoon.  So as soon as I got home, I would rush to the television for what seemed like my own private art lesson.  I became hooked on drawing.  However, I went to a small school with no elementary art program, and I was involved in band and choir, so I wasn't able to take an art class in middle school.  Fortunately, my school had a program that allowed students who performed well academically to attend a local community college and earn college credit.  This is where I officially took my first art class, and my professor encouraged me to pursue art education.  Below are examples of some of my artwork created over the years.  For details on the work, click the image.  (The image above is not one of my works and was provided by Wix.com)
